So the end is coming. I'm being made redundant. Well I could still have a job if I was willing to move to Ireland. That is so not going to happen. Nevermind that i don't want to, but the legal ramifications of doing so is a pain in the ass. I'm still an American citizen, so I'd have to apply for immigration to Ireland. So that's a no go just for legal reasons.
So the the company that bought us is based in Ireland. They've decided, in their infinate wisdom, that they are going to move the IT and Finance departments to Ireland. That's about 10 people out of a job at the end of Febuary. Lovely of them.
Luckily Boss already has a new job. I'm glad for him. He has a baby girl to care for. I'd've worried if he didn't have somewhere to go. Network admin boy gets to keep his job though. He'll continue his job as he has now. Going from office to office, being useless as always. So basically out of IT, I'm the only one screwed.
The consultants and other misc employees I deal with everyday aren'thappy that I'm going. They know Network Boy is useless and Ireland isn't gonna have a clue. I keep these people able to do their jobs and they know it. This change isn't something they like at all. I'm encouraging filing complaints about it.
I've got an interview today with the NHS. I really want this job too. Not only cause it's more pay, but because it'll be a solid job. Good benefits and an easy commute count for alot in my books. So keep those fingers crossed for me. The sooner I'm outta this shit hole I currently work in, the better.
